If you want a handy tool for doing screenshots on Windows (most useful when putting that documentation together), check out Gadwin PrintScreen (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen). It takes over the PrintScreen key and can be configured to take a shot of the whole screen, active window or rectangular area. It can save in .jpg, allows you to preview the capture and has a nifty zoom area when doing rectangular areas so you can get pixel-perfect captures.
