eWrite Lite is a lightweight online editor that allows novice users to create simple web pages online and publish them to their website. It comes with added value as the creator Gordon Murray is one of the great and good from the Peoples Republic of Cork so you will get timely support if you have a problem.

I liked what I saw of eWrite Lite but I would suggest that Gordon make it free to use for up to 3 pages and then hit people with the price tag. Also 200 clams for an online editor seems a little steep, a lower price point might convert more users earlier in customers.

Still great to see people trying to do something in this space in Ireland.

Better late than never with Toddle, a super simple way to create email newsletters. From its one line registration process to hyperajaxified interface the whole interface smacks of Alan O’Rourke’s wonderful attention to detail.

Alan’s company SpoiltChild.com is one of the great unsung heroes of the Web 2.0 sector. His company makes beautiful simple website and beautiful simple web applications like Toddle.

Profitable within months of launch Toddle continues to be an example to rest of us pre-revenue wannabes.

Work has delayed my Tuesday Push post so big apologies Marcus. Marcus MacInnes is one of the true vanguards of Web 2.0 and is beating the Americans at their own game with a most excellent photo sharing site, pix.ie.

From its very impressive multi-file uploader that is baked into the browser interface, to the super slick and stylish user interface, pix.ie just smacks of professionalism all over.

It also provides a perfect tool for sole traders or consultants who need to keep track of their own time or client time. For a single person the software is free for one project. After than prices rise fairly modestly. Trust me, you won’t sweat the costs on this one.

I’ve used it and it does what it says on the tin, helps you keep track of your time. It has good email reminders for people like me who are forever forgetting to fill in their EI paperwork and it can track non work costs if you are especially conscientious about that sort of thing.

Damien hits another home run for Startups in Ireland with his Tuesday Push idea. What I love about it was the speed of execution. Met Damien last week at the Darklight Festival, he mentioned the idea (which I whole heartedly endorsed), couple of emails over the weekend to confirm with other key figures that it was a runner. tThe very next Tuesday and we are up and running.

Damien is a exemplar of the “lets not overthink this one” model of working.
